I would reccomend drinking more water and taking prenatal a multi vitamin along with a vitamin E. Tea tree and olive oil shampoos are very good for hair repair which will make your hair stronger and make it grow.

Hair masques are also very good, try to find an olive oil or tea tree masques. After washing your hair, massage the masque all over your hair and scalp, get a shower cap and leave it for 30 minutes then rinse.

I would suggest Chi Silk Infusion to put in after every shower to get it to stop breaking off, and some good heat protection spray before you iron(if you must). Bed Head "control freak" products(shampoo, conditioner and serum) are designed to tame hair also. The use of a curling iron will tame frizzies but be just a bit better for your hair than a flat iron. I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.

GNC makes a tablet called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition.

ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that

This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.

The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.

Your dandruff is most likely caused by dry scalp. Try changing your shampoo, maybe some with medication. Give at least a week to see the result. My philosophy is that, the only reason to grow your hair out is to, in the end, cut it off...that's how I am, anyway. My dad won't let me cut my hair (no, not even a trim), so next year, when I turn 18, I'm cutting it all off. A cute pixie cut! Then I'll grow it out mid-length and do some cool tragically dyed emo-cut, and then grow it long and wear it pretty and curled with nifty little hair pins and what-nots. I never have the same hair style for long. I've relaxed my hair, permed it, dyed it and bleached it. First time I dyed my hair was in Second grade and ive never stopped. My natural color is dark brown. I've had highlights, then back brown, more highlights, dark brown with blonde bangs, black with red at the end of my bangs, black with hot pink underneath.... you name it i've done it. I cut my hair in a bob about six months ago and now its almost shoulder length. I just died it light brown and im gonna get honey blonde highlights. Now Im gonna grow it out until at least the middle of my back and continue having it golden brown and honey blonde. Then im thinkning about cutting it like kelis, the r%26amp;b artist, if you know who that is. Idk I never can decide what I want....

Believe it or not, even in todays modern world, some religions beleive that it is a sin to cut a woman's hair, basing their beliefs on where the Bible says that a woman's hair is her crown of glory. I tend to agree with you in that we grow it so we can cut it and let it grow again. Then we have those tie-died forever hippies left over from Woodstock who still want to wear daisy crowns and play in the tall grasses all day long. It was a fashion statement then and I'd venture to say it is a fashion statement now as well. Fathers forbid their daughters to cut their hair because they think long hair is the bomb and it gives them some control over their daughters that will too soon be gone forever once their all grown up. Men would soon change their minds about hair cuts for women if they were forced to deal with the hairstyling worries we often deal with daily! The men would be aggravated to pieces dealing with the how-to's of styling all that hair. It's a similar idea of the one where we think that is why God made women to have the babies. yeah I know what you mean I've got curly hair and it takes AGES to grow. There's nothing you can do to speed it up, but don't use hairdryers and straighteners bcos these dry your hair out and give you split ends.

First of all, be thankful you have, as you say, "awesome," past-shoulder length hair. I have a couple of blonde friends who can't grow hair past their napes! :)

Which brings me to the next thing. People are born with a predetermined maximum hair length. A lot of it has to do with genetics, natural hair color, race, etc. So, you might just be one of those who are destined to have past-shoulder length hair.

BUT you can also see if your hair will grow past your current max by supplementing your diet with hair-healthy vitamins and nutrients. I'm not sure whether cod liver oil (or other fish oil) will help but my mom made us take it when we were kids and I had hair to my butt back then. Try to do some internet research on your own to see what supplements will work well to encourage hair growth and make hair healthy. Just be mindful that there are bogus gimmicks out there. As a general rule, I don't go for anything I consider expensive.

Adding Jello (which is meat based) or other gelatin products (seaweed based) can help hair AND nails grow stronger giving it a better chance to grow longer. This will be especially helpful if your hair is prone to breakage.

If your hair is prone to breakage, perhaps it's NOT that your hair won't grow longer but just reaches it's breaking point where it's at. So be mindful of how you comb or brush your hair and what you do to style it. If you do things that are likely to make it dry or heat damaged (these are very notorious reasons for breaking), make sure you do something to protect your hair from these processes.

I have long wavy hair to my waist and my friends/family tell me, my hair grows super fast. I find that my hair grows longer in warmer weather than in the colder weather. So, I help the process by getting hot oil treatments (coconut oil makes your hair just glorious) and, believe it or not, putting it in a ponytail (not too tight, though). Years ago, I read somewhere that the slight tug the ponytail produces at the hairs' roots encourage/promote hair growth. I can't remember the exact article or where I found it but it seems to work for me.

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

When I was a kid, I went about 7 years without getting my haircut. My friends finally gave me a voucher to Peter Mark to get my haircut when I was in university. I had to get lots cut because it was old and damaged. So don;t NOT cut your hair, that is bad too. Be sure to get your hair trimmed while it is dry. They will cut less off. Your hair elongates whilst wet, and they tend to cut more off. Don't wash your hair everyday.....i did, and taht is how it got damaged. Don't use a brush, this breaks your hair. Be careful not to use elastic ponytail holders tool long, thye break hair. Do not use hot tools frequently either. Oh, and if you have dark hair, DO NOT use any bleach. You will get a "chemical haircut" and not realise it. The chemicals break hair off (by the inch)!

Secondly, I haven't tried this, but a friend was telling me that if you only get your hair cut on the full moon, it will grow faster and she says that her hair was shorter than shoulder length and it grew past her waist in about a year and she always gets it cut on the full moon. so there you go. yeah the first time i went to get my eyebrows down the girl asked me which side i slept on and i said usually my right..and she said that my right eyebrow is slightly thicker than my left! she said its because when we sleep (for so many hours at a time) the blood literally goes to that side of our face, or body and so the hair just grows faster

In order to attain that look, you would need to have some natural curl in your hair. If your hair is naturally stick straight, it will not look the same as that guys once it has grown out. If you are eager for it to grow, try using DooGro shampoo and conditioner. You can buy these at beauty supply stores, and I have also seen them at Dollar General stores. stop wasting your money on stuff like doo gro..your hair is going to grow no matter what unless you have some kind of internal disorder or condition. its just that if you dont moisturize your ends you hair breaks as it grows and thats why it seem like your hair grows slow or not at all. all you have to do is keep your scalp clean and your ends moisturized and also wrap your hair up at night so your hair doesnt break off from you moving all around at night on a cotton pillow case. oh yeah and if your hair is shorter than shoulder length wear it up as much as possible because little strands can break off because of your hair rubbing again the top of shirt (friction) it also helps if you eat healthy

There really isn't any proven pill that will make your hair grow. Nor are there any products that do it, I'm sorry to say. The whole world of black hair care can be a joke sometimes, since none of that stuff really works except natural stuff.

The only thing you can do is change the way you take care of it, and you can start by taking any regular vitamin that has the full daily amount of ZINC in it. I swear by zinc, it makes your fingernails grow, and it can help your hair, and what I use it for is to keep acne at bay, since something about zinc makes it a natural antibacterial and promotes healing.

I am sorry to say, gelatin significantly improving growth rate is an old wive's tale, close on being an urban legend.

Gelatin appears to improve growth in nails (before hair) because even the smallest improvement appears significant), but gelatin strengthens, which means that nails and hair do not wear down as easily, they are stronger so don't beak as easily, and are less likely to be yanked out as easily during grooming. All these factors will make hair seem like it is growing longer faster, but this type of "improvement" is only noticeable on shoulder-length to mid-back hair.

Your hair grows an average of 1/2 inch per month -- slightly more in the summer and less in the winter. At best there might be 1/64th of an inch improvement in length. As the increased heat and humidity of the longer summer months, you could make a point of a stem bath or humidity treatment a few times a week.

I'm not suggesting you eschew gelatin, as there is befit to consumption both for body, nails and hair. But, hair needs keratin to grow, so you want to consider taking a fish-oil Omega 3 supplement along with your gealatin.

And no, commercial "Jell-o" (or its generic equivalent) is not the gelatin you would need to take. Knox, unflavored, in the packet -- the directions for drinking it as a supplement are on the side of the box (it will be one packet per treatment). Its pretty yukky by the way, and makes me gag going down. I believe there are gelatin capsules on the market.

So, depending upon the urgency for this super fast hair growth -- which just won't happen the way you seem to be hoping it will -- you might want to consider a hair fall, or extensions. Extensions/weaves are not noticeable to anyone, and is definitively the fastest way to get long hair.

Well my aunt usually eats a bowlful (the regular sized ones, not the jumbo size salad bowls) every night and her hair and nails grow like weeds! I wish you could see her nails, they're so strong and beautiful...they look fake because they're so perfect. If you're trying to cut calories just eat the sugar free kind, or buy the Knox gelatin envelopes, you can mix that stuff in with just about anything and not even taste it. Okay well, I've tried on many occasions to grow my hair out, but the problem I have is that it only wants to get poofy like a fro and not grow like other peoples. okayy. after you blow-dry your hair put this stuff called Chi Silk in.. its like a leave in conditioner type thing. you are also going to want to straighten your hair too. so before you straighten spray Chi Iron stuff in your hair... it makes the straightener not fry it. the straightener that i reccommend is chi turbo.. thats the best chi that i have ever hadd %26amp; it works like really well!

My hair used to be freakin LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG. Like, below the butt. I would put hair oil in it every day (Parachute is good), i wore it in a braid EVERY DAY (I think this was key), and I brushed it a LOT every day. The braiding makes it virtually tangle-less, so the brushing actually does more good than harm. It stimulates the scalp, so it grows more hair. Also, keep split ends trimmed - it's important, so it doesnt break. If you have split ends and it still gets long by some miracle, it'll be really thick at the top, and really thin at the bottom - and who wants THAT? It shouldnt take that long
