How do you grow curly hair?

I have short curly hair. I try to trim it every three months to keep it healthy and keep the shape. But everytime I come out of the salon, it seems to me that I am back at square one and I can't grow it out. How bad is it if I get a trim every 6 months? Any other advice to grow it out?

if you want to wait it out and see. I've gone 2 years once without trimming my hair, with no split ends. It went from my shoulders to my mid back...... Trimming is healthy for your hair, but as for growth.. it's all in your family jeans how long it takes... wait it out and see

When I get a trim I tell the hairdresser to 'keep the length' so they dont take too much off. Stop letting them cut it off and you'll successfully be growing it out :P

You can't grow curly hair unless your hair is already curly.

Tell your hairdresser that you want to grow your hair out so to just please clip the dead ends and thats all. I know when I am growing my hair out it seems like it has a stage where it doesn't want to do anything and that is when I am trying to grow it out ...so just be patient in between the trim of the dead ends and it will happen. Some people's hair grow fast ...others ...not so fast ...I think if you drink plenty of water and massage your scalp that promotes hair growth....

I hope this was helpful ~~~

Good Luck !

well, eat lots of nuts and apples, get b vitamins, and stop cutting it so much. Instead, apply a protective syrum to your roots with a scrunching motion every time you wash it, and use a shampoo that keeps your hair from splitting like pantene, or a damage control shampoo like dove. switch the brand every two months so your hair stays clean and in shape. and then don't ever cut it unless you notice white dots on the ends of your hair.
