Why does hair grow back differently after its shaved?

I've heard a lot about head hair growing back different colors and textures after the person shaves their head, what's behind this?

Why does hair grow back differently after its shaved?

It is a myth, although there are reasons to the myth.

As far as the different texture, once the hair starts growing back, there is a period where it is still short and almost stubbly. this might seem quite different from how it felt before shaving but has more to do with the length and the lack of effect gravity has on it. Once it grows back fully it will be the same as before.

Another texture issue is for those who have slightly wavy hair. The hair may initially have a stronger curl that will lessen somewhat once it gets longer and gravity makes the curl harder to maintain.

Color as well is a trick that can appear as a change. Hair can lighten or have highlights appear naturally if exposed to the sun for a long period. New hair, however, will be unexposed yet and often will appear duller or darker than when it grows out. This is also why even many people who do not color their hair has their roots appear slightly darker than the greater length.

yeah theres people who shave their hair and then it get curly when they are really suppose to have it straight it cause its new hair so it has a different way to grow its starting fresh!
